Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, has appointed Lena Hill Dean of the College. Her last day at the University of Iowa will be May 25. Melissa Shivers will serve as interim chief diversity officer.

University of Iowa President J. Bruce Harreld has appointed Dan Matheson the new chair of the Presidential Committee on Athletics. Matheson replaces Liz Hollingworth, who served two years as chair and will begin a two-year term as a faculty athletics representative on the committee.
