Families bid farewell as first-year students arrive for move-in
Wednesday, August 15, 2018

Residence hall move-in for new University of Iowa students kicked off Tuesday, Aug. 14, running through Thursday, Aug. 16. Nearly 700 Iowa volunteers helped things run smoothly as hundreds of undergraduates and their families unloaded vehicles and unpacked belongings in residence hall rooms on both sides of the Iowa River.

Living on campus not only is convenient and affordable, it's a great way to find a home within the university community and make new friends. The university's residence halls vary in size from the 1,000 to 98 residents, and in atmospheres from high-rises like Catlett to the more traditional Iowa architecture of Currier.
