The University of Iowa Alumni Association is hosting a Lifelong Learning event, "Second Amendment and Mental Health Issues Discussion,” Wednesday, April 24, at the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium in Dubuque. Though it is free and open to the public, registration is required by noon Wednesday, April 17.

The annual Latin dance event Gusto Latino will return to the University of Iowa Friday, April 19, for a night of dance lessons, live music by Salsa Vibe, and food.

The University of Iowa Pentacrest Museums’ Museum of Natural History will continue the spring Movies@MNH series at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 28, with the free public screening of "Bag It" in Macbride Auditorium.

An online game that lets citizen scientists help map the brain connections involved in vision is the subject of one of three public presentations by leading neuroscience experts being held April 16 and 17 to celebrate UI Health Sciences Research Week.

Dylan Miner, whose project Anishinaabensag Biimskowebshkigewag (Native Kids Ride Bikes) is currently the University of Iowa Museum of Art’s featured spring exhibition, will present a free public lecture on Thursday, April 18, at 5:30 p.m. in Room 116 of Art Building West. The University of Iowa School of Music will present a free concert by Johnson County Landmark—performing the music of John Rapson, director of jazz studies in the UI School of Music—at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, in the Englert Theatre in downtown Iowa City. The concert marks Rapson’s 20th anniversary at the UI School of Music.
