Council on Undergraduate Research selects UI student’s project for Posters on the Hill

University of Iowa student Caroline Wadman and her faculty mentor, Gerene Denning, will head to Washington, D.C., to participate in a selective research showcase called Posters on the Hill. Wadman's project focuses on ATV-related deaths and injuries and will inform educational materials.

Teaching community outreach

UI faculty and students will partner with Mason City and a five-county region in east-central Iowa on community-betterment projects ranging from art to urban revitalization. The Iowa Initiative for Sustainable Communities will lead the effort, which will take place during the 2016–17 academic year.

UI Health Care announces leadership structure change

UI Health Care will change its leadership structure on Feb. 15, 2016. The new leadership structure will combine two existing positions, those of University of Iowa vice president for medical affairs and dean of the UI Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, into a single position.

UI reaches agreement with Pfizer to develop potential cystic fibrosis gene therapy

The University of Iowa Research Foundation recently finalized a license and sponsored-research agreement with Pfizer Inc. to support the development of potential gene therapies for cystic fibrosis by the laboratories of UI professors John Engelhardt and Ziying Yan.

UI chemists uncover how key agent allows diseases to reproduce
