A university search committee has selected two final candidates for the next vice president for medical affairs and dean of the Carver College of Medicine. The candidates will visit campus over the next two weeks to meet with faculty, staff, and leadership as well as participate in public forums.

John Keller, dean of the Graduate College and associate provost, has been appointed interim vice president for research and economic development. Retaining his current responsibilities, Keller will take on this additional role Oct. 1.

University of Iowa Interim Provost Sue Curry has named Dan Clay, dean of the College of Education, and Ann Estin, law professor and Aliber Family Chair in Law, to serve as co-chairs of the search committee to replace Gail Agrawal, dean of the College of Law.

Starting in the fall of 2018, the University of Iowa will no longer require first-year students living in its residence halls to join a Living Learning Community (LLC). Rather, the UI will offer a new residential program that includes opt-in LLCs and supports new students as they transition to college.
