The University of Iowa chapter of Beta Alpha Psi has again received the national accounting honor society’s highest honor of being named a Superior Chapter for the twelfth year in a row.

The organization’s board of directors commended the UI chapter for excelling in academics, professionalism, and leadership. The UI chapter organizes VITA, an annual effort that provides free tax filing services for low-income residents of Johnson County; hosts Meet the Firms night, which allows accounting majors to network with representatives of more than 40 accounting firms; and hosts the annual RSM National Accounting Speaker Series.

The award also singles out Joyce Berg, professor of accounting in the Tippie College of Business and faculty advisor, for her leadership of the chapter since 2005.

Founded in 1919, Beta Alpha Psi currently has more than 270 chapters worldwide.
