After his son's harrowing war experience and difficulty assimilating to college and civilian life, College of Dentistry's Rick Williamson has played an active role in helping veterans at the University of Iowa transition successfully from military service to higher-education studies and careers.

The University of Iowa will become part of a new collaboration that supports one of the state’s largest entrepreneurial conferences, to be held in Iowa City next May.

The University of Iowa has been designated a Home Base Iowa Certified Higher Academic Military Partner (CHAMP) for its work to educate and assist veterans on campus.

On Oct. 6, President Mason announced the UI is committing funding to support three sexual assault prevention education specialist positions at the UI Women’s Resource Action Center and the Rape Victim Advocacy Program.
