Caroline Tolbert, professor of political science, has been named a 2021 Andrew Carnegie Fellowship recipient. Tolbert is one of 32 winners of the prestigious fellowship, which awards up to $200,000 to fund the data analysis, writing, and publishing of high-caliber scholarly research.

The Board of Regents, State of Iowa, honored six University of Iowa faculty members for their exceptional contributions and sustained record of excellence. Each recipient received $1,000 and will be honored at a special awards celebration.

Wendy F. Hensel, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, will visit campus on April 19—20 to meet with faculty, staff, and students.

Tracie Morris, professor of poetry at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, has received a Guggenheim fellowship to write a book and craft a play about influential actor and playwright Ira Aldridge. The fellowship provides six to 12 months’ funding for artists, scholars, and writers to pursue creative project

Erika Christiansen, assistant director for leadership, service, and civic engagement in the University of Iowa Division of Student Life (DSL), is the recipient of the 2021 Lola Lopes Award for Undergraduate Student Advocacy.

Barbara J. Wilson, executive vice president and vice president for academic affairs for the University of Illinois System in Urbana, Illinois, will visit campus on April 15—16 to meet with faculty, staff, and students.
