New bus stop signs will make using Cambus easier

During the spring semester, Cambus will install new, easy-to-read signs that display routes by color and number, on-demand options, and local transit connections. The signs also include web, phone, and text info, as well as a QR code for the Transit app — making it easier to get real-time updates.

UI holds classes virtually on Friday, Jan. 23

Because of an Extreme Cold Warning while classes are in session, UI moved to virtual instruction on Friday, Jan. 23. Instructors will hold classes via Zoom or Teams, or in rare circumstances, cancel class and cover material at a future date. University offices and services will remain open in accordance with the UI Policy Manual.

That’s why Shawn Datchuk, professor of special education, and a team at the Iowa Reading Research Center created a free online tool that includes curriculum, videos, and more. Datchuk says handwriting boosts reading, writing, and learning skills — and pencils are still less expensive than laptops.
