The University of Iowa and the University of Iowa Foundation announced March 9 that 194,541 UI alumni and friends have contributed $1.7 billion to "For Iowa. Forever More: The Campaign for the University of Iowa," reaching the campaign’s goal.

Domestic violence during pregnancy doubles the risk of pre-term birth and low birth weight, according to a study. UI Researchers also found that domestic violence, which includes physical, sexual, financial, psychological, or emotional abuse, slightly increased the risk of a baby being small for gestational age.

Iowa swept the basketball academic awards given by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Men’s basketball player Jarrod Uthoff was named the national Academic All-America of the Year, while Ally Disterhoft won the same award for women’s basketball.
