TaJuan Wilson, executive director of Student Programs and Diversity and assistant professor at the Medical University of South Carolina, has been named the University of Iowa’s new associate vice president for diversity, equity, and inclusion. He will begin on June 28.

Researchers at the University of Iowa collected data on a semester’s worth of ID-card swipes at a dining hall — nearly a half million from about 4,000 students in the fall of 2009 — and created a measure that correlates positively with retention and graduation rates.
