An Iowa Institute for Biomedical Imaging (IIBI) research team won best machine-learning paper at the International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging (ISBI 2019) recently in Venice, Italy.

IWP’s Merrill awarded Guggenheim Fellowship

Director of the University of Iowa’s International Writing Program Christopher Merrill was one of 168 winners of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation’s 2019 fellowships. The recipients, announced April 10, were chosen from a group of almost 3,000 applicants.

MFA student writes surrounding her experiences with death

Leigh Marshall was 16 when her father was diagnosed with cancer. By the end of the month, he died. Marshall, an MFA playwright in the Theatre Arts Program at the University of Iowa, writes plays about her first-hand experience surrounding death.
