The University of Iowa Lecture Committee will kick off its fall semester lecture series on Thursday, Aug. 28, with actor Jeffrey Tambor presenting “Performing Your Life.”

The Midwest Creative College Conference, hosted by the UI School of Urban and Regional Planning to commemorate its 50th anniversary, will be held in Iowa City Sept. 19-20. The conference will explore how college towns can convert their energy and cultural vibrance into an entrepreneurial start-up scene.
