Former UI professor Gronbeck, renowned media expert, dies at 73

Bruce Gronbeck, a University of Iowa professor emeritus described as one of the most prominent scholars of rhetoric and media in the world, died Wednesday during a visit back to UI where he was being honored by the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences as an alumni fellow. He was 73.

No confirmed cases of EV-D68 at UI Hospitals and Clinics

Although some Iowa hospitals have confirmed cases of EV-D68, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics reports no confirmed cases of EV-D68, said Eli Perencevich, professor of medicine at the UI Carver College of Medicine. But doctors have submitted several specimens to be tested. Actual care and management of the virus are very standard and are part of our protocol, he said.

UI Dev/Iowa offers Startup Weekend passes to registrants for fall classes
