The University of Iowa Department of Theatre Arts will present the next offering in its Mainstage series, "A Dream Play" by August Strindberg, at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 7, in the David Thayer Theatre in the UI Theatre Building.

The University of Iowa Art Faculty Biennial Exhibition runs Feb. 23 through May 5 at the Figge Art Museum, 225 West 2nd Street in Davenport, and kicks off this Sunday, Feb. 24, with an artists’ reception from 3-5 p.m.

The University of Iowa String Quartet Residency Program will present a free public performance by the Linden String Quartet at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 2, in Riverside Recital Hall on the UI campus. The concert is part of the Linden’s extended residency Feb. 26-March 6 at the UI School of Music.

The UIowa Saxophone Quartet will perform works by Bach, Edvard Grieg, Jun Nagao, Camille Saint-Saens, George Gershwin, and Jean Matitia at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 4, in Riverside Recital Hall on the University of Iowa campus.

Joe Blair, graduate of the University of Iowa Nonfiction Writing Program, will read from "By the Iowa Sea: A Memoir of Disaster and Love" at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, in a free reading at Prairie Lights Books in downtown Iowa City. The reading also will be streamed live on the University of Iowa Writing University website.

Author and humorist Julia Pandl will read from "Memoir of the Sunday Brunch," her debut book, at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 7, in a free reading at Prairie Lights Books in downtown Iowa City. The reading also will be streamed live on the University of Iowa Writing University website.

Lawrence Weschler will read from his essay collection, Uncanny Valley, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, in a free reading in the Room 101 of Biology Building East on the University of Iowa campus.

The UI School of Music will present the 2013 University of Iowa Orchestra Invitational Gala Concert, performed by the UI Chamber Orchestra and School of Music faculty, at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, in Riverside Recital Hall on the UI campus. The concert is free and the public is welcome.

The University of Iowa Public Digital Humanities for Lunch (PDH4L) series continues a presentation titled "New Ways of Writing in Community" from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at the Gerber Auditorium in the English and Philosophy Building (EPB).

Margot Livesey, Jonathan Goldsmith Visiting Author at the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop, will present a free reading at 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, in the Frank Conroy Reading Room of the Glenn Schaeffer Library, adjacent to the Dey House.
