Historic marathon performance to inaugurate UI’s majestic Klais organ

Celebrated organist Kevin Bowyer will perform Sorabji’s monumental Second Organ Symphony for the inauguration of the University of Iowa’s new Klais organ beginning at noon on Feb 10. The performance will last about eight-and-a-half hours—but you can catch the finale if you arrive at 8 p.m.

Dance Marathon keeps breaking records

It’s another year to remember for the University of Iowa Dance Marathon community. Dance Marathon 23 raised $2,572,130.23 to help fund pediatric cancer research at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.

Beth MacKenzie: Waste reducer

Meet Beth MacKenzie, the UI’s new recycling coordinator. Based in the Office of Sustainability, MacKenzie’s goal is to help the UI meet its 2020 target of diverting 60 percent of on-campus waste away from the landfill. She also leads Recyclemania 2017, an all-campus recycling initiative that begins on Feb. 5.
