University of Iowa President Bruce Harreld has named Laura McLeran interim vice president for student life. McLeran, senior advisor to the president and associate vice president for external relations, will begin serving on Jan. 1.

The University of Iowa again is cooperating with the city of Iowa City’s Deer Population Management Project. The latest deer management plan, which was approved by the Iowa City Council in August, calls for one season of sharpshooting deer from Dec. 1, 2019, to March 31, 2020.

Lois J. Geist named associate provost for faculty

Lois J. Geist has been named the new associate provost for faculty in the University of Iowa’s Office of the Provost. Geist previously served as associate dean of faculty affairs and development in the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine and professor of internal medicine.
