Public meeting on Art Building use set for June 18

The University of Iowa encourages the public to attend an open house and the first of two public meetings to discuss the proposed repurposement of the existing 1936 Art Building located at 200 N. Riverside Dr. The meeting will be at 6 p.m. June 18 in 2520D University Capitol Centre.

A UI study shows that chronic exposure to a toxin made by staph bacteria produces in rabbits the hallmark symptoms of Type 2 diabetes, including insulin resistance and glucose intolerance. The findings suggest that eliminating staph bacteria or neutralizing the toxins might have potential for preventing or treating the disease.
