For more than three decades, the successful Saturday Art Workshops have engaged the community's young artists in the creative process while also offering aspiring art teachers the chance to practice their profession thanks to University of Iowa College of Education’s Art Education faculty and students.
UIMA seeks artists to create wearable art

The University of Iowa Museum of Art is seeking 12 artists to create wearable works of art inspired by Pollock’s Mural. Works will be featured in a fashion show at the Museum Party and then displayed for two weeks in downtown Iowa City.

As part of the UI’s biomass fuel project, dozens of Macbride Nature Recreation Area trees felled during a September storm were collected, mulched, and turned into a blended fuel that now can be used in the UI’s main power plant.

Dylan Holub faced a lot of ups and downs during his 141-day stay in the UI Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, including the development of retinopathy of prematurity—an abnormal blood vessel development in the retina which can cause blindness if not caught and treated early. Holub will be the honorary Kid Capain this Friday, Nov. 29 when the Hawkeyes play Nebraska.
