The University of Iowa is hosting an information session on genetic counseling, an emerging field, in Iowa and around the U.S., in which professionals work with patients on health issues according to their genetic profile. The session is for students at Iowa colleges and in schools in neighboring states who are interested in master's programs in the field.

University of Iowa researchers have created a vaccine for dust-mite allergies. In lab tests and animal trials, the nano-sized vaccine package was readily absorbed by immune cells and dramatically lowered allergic responses. Results appear in the AAPS Journal.
