On Tuesday, Nov. 13, the University of Iowa Health Sciences Policy Council will host a one-day, nonpartisan conference titled "Rebalancing Health Care in the Heartland 5: Shaping Iowa’s Health Care Landscape," featuring keynote speaker Susan Dentzer, editor in chief of the policy journal Health Affairs, at the Embassy Suites in Des Moines. There is a fee.

The Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex will play host to a United States Tennis Association Junior Tournament Dec. 7-9. The event is open to players ages 8 to 18.
Dance alumni to give free performances Nov. 9-10

Several alumni of the University of Iowa Department of Dance will conclude a week of teaching and rehearsals with two performances of works they are creating and performing across the country at 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Nov. 9-10, in Space Place Theater of North Hall. The performances are open to the public and no tickets are required.

"The Fossil Guy" series continues at the University of Iowa Museum of Natural History on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m., with “When the Mammoths Roamed Iowa." Each program consists of a 30-minute talk by Don Johnson, a local amateur paleontologist. The free public events are held in Macbride Auditorium.
