The University of Iowa School of Music will present a guest euphonium recital by Neal Corwell at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, in the University Capitol Centre recital hall. The performance, which is free and open to the public, will include some of Corwell’s original compositions.

"Trees in Your Pocket" by botanist Thomas Rosburg is now available in paperback from the Bur Oak Books series of the University of Iowa Press. The book provides identification and natural history information for about 40 prominent deciduous species found in the Upper Midwest states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri.

The University of Iowa National Advanced Driving Simulator recently received a new $650,000 research contract from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to research ways of detecting drowsy, distracted, and alcohol-impaired driving.
