An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a weekend stabbing that hospitalized two men early Sunday morning and prompted the University of Iowa to issue a Hawk Alert.

The University of Iowa School of Art and Art History will host ArtsFest from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 3, in the Studio Arts Building at 1375 Highway 1 West in Iowa City. ArtsFest is a free, interactive art experience that will feature artwork by UI students, as well as demonstrations and hands–on opportunities in studio art and art history.

University of Iowa officials recently installed the campus’s first hearing loop system, which provides unprecedented sound clarity for people with hearing aids and cochlear implants, and there are plans to install five more over the next few years.

The University of Iowa School of Urban and Regional Planning, along with the Iowa City UNESCO City of Literature, and the Center for the Living, will host a Jane Jacobs Walk through the emerging neighborhood north of downtown Iowa City from 3-4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4. The walk is free and open to the public.

For the fifth consecutive year, George Washington High School in Cedar Rapids is the top Advanced Placement school in Iowa, according to the Iowa AP Index. The index was developed nine years ago by the University of Iowa College of Education's Belin-Blank Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development.
