Students revive UI Homecoming tradition

Students from the University of Iowa Campus Activities Board and the College of Engineering worked together to bring back the corn monument Homecoming tradition. The 25-foot tall monument is made from about 1,100 ears of Iowa corn and can be seen on the Pentacrest through Sunday, Oct. 12.

Buddy Lazier, the 1996 Indianapolis 500 champion and driver of the No. 91 University of Iowa Stephen A. Wynn Institute for Vision Research Dallara/Chevrolet/Firestone car, will serve as grand marshal for the 2014 UI Homecoming Parade Friday, Oct. 10, starting at 5:45 p.m. in downtown Iowa City.
