Jameson to receive Capote Award Oct. 23

Fredric Jameson will receive the Truman Capote Award for Literary Criticism in Memory of Newton Arvin in a public event at 4 p.m. Oct. 23, in the Senate Chamber of the Old Capitol on the University of Iowa campus. Jameson will be honored for "The Antinomies of Realism," published by Verso.

Students from the University of Iowa Campus Activities Board and the College of Engineering worked together to bring back the corn monument Homecoming tradition. The 25-foot tall monument is made from about 1,100 ears of Iowa corn and can be seen on the Pentacrest through Sunday, Oct. 12.
