The University of Iowa College of Nursing has reached a major milestone in "For Iowa. Forever More: The Campaign for the University of Iowa." The college has raised more than $20 million in private support toward its $25 million goal as part of the campaign.

Aly Olson, the reigning Miss Iowa who is a student at the UI that recently advanced to the Top 12 in the 2015 Miss America pageant, will be part of a special series of pre-game activities scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1, when the Iowa football team entertains Northwestern at historic Kinnick Stadium.

Katie Nasenbenny, a senior on the University of Iowa women’s soccer team, was one of 200 NCAA student-athletes across all divisions to attend the NCAA Career in Sports Forum this past summer. The event was held at the NCAA Headquarters in Indianapolis and is considered one of the most prominent, invitation-only events that a current NCAA student-athlete can attend.

Oct. 13-17 marked the second annual We Are Phil giving appeal for University of Iowa faculty and staff, but the push to bolster private support for UI people and programs continues.

The Master of Science in Health Policy degree program, formally approved Thursday, Oct. 23, by the Iowa Board of Regents, will equip students with advanced training in health policy analysis. The new degree will be offered by the Department of Health Management and Policy in the UI College of Public Health beginning in spring 2015.

The University of Iowa announced the selection of a development partner for the new UI Museum of Art. The group selected for negotiations is a partnership between H+H Development Group of Iowa City and Mortenson Inc. of Minneapolis.

While the risk of an Ebola case in Iowa City or on campus remains extremely low, staff members at Student Health and Wellness and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics are tracking the situation with daily updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization.
