The Science Writing Heuristic approach, which was co-developed in 1998 by Brian Hand, a science education professor at the University of Iowa’s College of Education, offers educators a new way to teach that transforms the science classroom and changes the way students think.

The Master of Science in Health Policy degree program, formally approved Thursday, Oct. 23, by the Iowa Board of Regents, will equip students with advanced training in health policy analysis. The new degree will be offered by the Department of Health Management and Policy in the UI College of Public Health beginning in spring 2015.
