The University of Iowa is reimagining the employee experience in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Office of the Provost and University Human Resources have formed a committee to consider how UI employees work, where they work, and how to continue to innovate and serve in new ways.

Jasper Halekas, associate professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy has been appointed to serve on the Planetary Science and Astrobiology Decadal Survey 2023-2032: Panel on Mars. The panel will advise NASA and the NSF to guide the next decade of scientific studies of Mars.
Dentistry professor honored for contributions to evidence-based dentistry

Satheesh Elangovan, professor in the Department of Periodontics in the College of Dentistry, has been recognized as a leader in evidence-based dentistry. Elangovan will receive an unrestricted educational grant from Colgate in recognition of his contributions.
Anthropology professor's book wins award

Elana Buch, associate professor in the Department of Anthropology, was awarded an Eileen Basker Memorial Prize by the Society for Medical Anthropology. The society cited in the award announcement Buch's "significant contribution to anthropological scholarship on gender and health.”
