Board of Regents announces timing for candidates for UI presidency open forums

The Iowa Board of Regents announced on Friday, Aug 14, that candidates for the University of Iowa presidency will participate in public forums from 4:45 to 6:15 p.m. at the Iowa Memorial Union. The on-campus interview process will occur during the weeks of the 24th and 31st of August.

UI 3D design students created the UI’s booth for the 2015 Iowa State Fair—a first for both the program and the university. The hexagon—a shape found in the construct of DNA—was used thematically in the booth, as a way to convey innovation, technology, creativity, and research.

Rajan Sah, MD, PhD, assistant professor of internal medicine in the UI Carver College of Medicine, has recently received a three-year, $400,000 Carver Trust Young Investigator award to study the role of fat-cell expansion in the development of insulin resistance and diabetes.
