Finding the best literacy resources for children in Iowa has just gotten a lot easier thanks to the Iowa Reading Research Center. The center, which recently found a new home at the University of Iowa, offers creative and fun ideas such as playing Sight Word Hopscotch or Beat the Clock.
Advocacy group announces new sexual assault prevention campaign

Starting Tuesday, Sept. 15, the University of Iowa community will notice bold new posters around campus highlighting the connection between drinking and sexual assault. The Rape Victim Advocacy Program (RVAP) is rolling out its fall prevention campaign, “My Cup Is Not My Consent.”

Colton's parents noticed something cloudy in their toddler's eye in 2009 and thought it was related to their new puppy. Their doctor recognized the symptoms and referred the family to UI Children's Hospital, where it was determined Colton had retinoblastoma, a rare cancer of the retina.

Neuroendocrine tumors are slow-growing cancers that occur primarily in adults but could also occur in children. They develop where the nervous and endocrine systems interact and are most commonly found in the small intestine, lungs, and pancreas.
