Baalrud wins award from U.S. Department of Energy

Scott Baalrud, assistant professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, has won a $750,000 Early Career Research Program award from the U.S. Department of Energy to advance his research into using fusion energy for electricity production.
Austin receives 2016 AADR Student Research Fellowship

Taylor Austin is a recipient of the 2016 American Association for Dental Research (AADR) Student Research Fellowship. The fellowship consists of a flat $2,100 stipend and $600 for travel expenses. She will also receive a $2,900 supplement from the UI Dental Student Research Program.

On May 4, the University of Iowa Police Department issued a Crime Alert after learning one of our students reported a racially motivated attack. We are saddened and outraged by the horrible event that transpired Saturday evening. This kind of violence is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
