University of Iowa Nonfiction Writing Program and Writers’ Workshop graduate Julene Bair will read from her ecological memoir of the high plains, "The Ogallala Road," at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 13, in a free reading at Prairie Lights Books in downtown Iowa City. The reading also will be streamed live on the University of Iowa Writing University website.

Clarinet Studio to give recital March 11

The University of Iowa School of Music will present a free recital by the Clarinet Studio of UI faculty member Maurita Murphy Marx at 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, in the University Capitol Centre Recital Hall. The recital will feature solos, trios, and quartets from a repertoire that ranges from Bach to Brazilian music.
