The March Madness of intercollegiate debate competitions is taking place in the Iowa City area as the University of Iowa hosts the 69th annual National Debate Tournament Championship.

The University of Iowa welcomed teams and fans from 57 schools March 26–28 as it hosted the 2015 NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center Natatorium. It was the second time the UI has hosted the championships and the first since 1927 when it was held at the UI Field House.

On Thursday, April 23, the University of Iowa Alumni Association is holding an event during which representatives from UI Libraries, the National Czech and Slovak Museum, and the African American Museum will display and discuss items restored after the flood of 2008, and explain how their organizations united to preserve an important piece of the community’s cultural heritage.
