On Wednesday, May 11, the UI announced the fourth candidate for the position of assistant vice president and director of public safety. Scott Beckner, director of public safety at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia, will visit campus May 12 and 13.
Voice mail getting a facelift

Write down those saved messages! The University of Iowa will upgrade its campus telephone voice mail system May 19 through June 2. The new voice mail system will function exactly as the previous version, but old messages cannot be transferred to the new system.

On May 4, the University of Iowa Police Department issued a Crime Alert after learning one of our students reported a racially motivated attack. We are saddened and outraged by the horrible event that transpired Saturday evening. This kind of violence is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
