A university search committee has announced the first finalist for the next executive vice president and provost at the University of Iowa.

Reams has been at the University of Iowa for more than a decade, most recently serving as associate dean of students and director of Student Care & Assistance, which provides support to students experiencing crises or emergency situations.

The University of Iowa has removed the registered student organization status for the Kappa Sigma, Delta Chi, and Sigma Nu fraternity chapters, as well as the Sigma Alpha Epsilon colony. The action comes after the conclusion of comprehensive investigations into incidents involving hazing and alcohol.

UI Libraries and UI Student Government are easing some of the burden of high textbook costs with a collaborative project called the Textbook Affordability Pilot (TAP). Under TAP, a committee of library staff and UISG representatives collect donated textbooks and purchase new ones for “high impact courses.”
