He’s certainly no stranger to the University of Iowa, but now Bill Theisen can call this place his home. Theisen, who served as the interim director of opera at the University of Iowa in 1998 and continued that relationship for the past 15 years, is now the full-time director of opera in the UI School of Music.

Before Mason Shepherd was born, his mother, Cindy, went in for her 20-week ultrasound where doctors discovered that her son had stopped growing. The Shepherds were transferred to UI Children’s Hospital for genetic testing, and Mason was diagnosed with Russell-Silver syndrome, a disorder characterized by slow growth before and after birth.

UI Theatre producing new adaptation of 'Imaginary Invalid'

The University of Iowa Department of Theatre Arts will produce a new adaptation of Molière’s "The Imaginary Invalid" that will include new music and choreography from members of the artistic team.
