UI research finds few side effects in new cholesterol-reduction drug class

Patients taking a new class of drugs to reduce cholesterol do not experience an increase in side effects like memory impairment or nervous system disorders, but may have an increased risk of cataracts, according to a study led by a UI College of Public Health researcher.

Meet Beth MacKenzie, the UI’s new recycling coordinator. Based in the Office of Sustainability, MacKenzie’s goal is to help the UI meet its 2020 target of diverting 60 percent of on-campus waste away from the landfill. She also leads Recyclemania 2017, an all-campus recycling initiative that begins on Feb. 5.
UI College of Engineering partners with Hong Kong University of Science and Technology for annual design challenge
