The Office of the Provost is accepting proposals from campus units interested in hosting a postdoctoral fellow as part of the new Provost’s Postdoctoral Faculty Fellowship Program.

University of Iowa President Bruce Harreld has named Laura McLeran interim vice president for student life. McLeran, senior advisor to the president and associate vice president for external relations, will begin serving on Jan. 1.

Downing Thomas, associate provost and dean of International Programs, has served as the university’s senior international officer since 2009. Thomas will return to a faculty position in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the end of the year.

Peg Nopoulos, chair of psychiatry and professor of psychiatry, neurology, and pediatrics in the UI Carver College of Medicine, has received a five-year, $18 million grant to continue and expand a decade-long study on brain development in children at risk for developing Huntington’s disease.

Executive Vice President and Provost Montse Fuentes has named Amy Kristof-Brown interim dean of the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business, effective March 1, 2020.

The Board of Regents, State of Iowa, will receive an informational webinar via the internet at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3. The subject of the webinar, provided by the University of Iowa, will be information on a potential public-private partnership with the UI’s utility system.
