UI replaces dean of College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

The University of Iowa is replacing the dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS). Steve Goddard, who has served as dean since June 2019, will assume a faculty role consistent with his appointment as professor in the Department of Computer Science.

Montse Fuentes, the University of Iowa executive vice president and provost, has elected to pursue a new opportunity at the university. Kevin Kregel, executive vice provost and senior associate provost for faculty, has been named interim provost.
University of Iowa announces budget reductions to begin fiscal year 2021

The University of Iowa is announcing additional budget cuts following a reduction in state support. The Iowa Legislature adjourned in June after approving cutting state funding for the public universities by $8 million. The Board of Regents, State of Iowa, will determine Iowa’s share of the cuts.
Libraries preserving images of spray-painting from Black Lives Matter protests
