Registration has started for this year's Wildlife Camps at Macbride Nature Recreation Area. Sponsored by University of Iowa Recreational Services, the popular camps welcome students who have completed kindergarten through high school.

A University of Iowa research team has won $1.7 million to study fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, a wide-ranging set of adverse effects that fetuses may face from mothers who abuse alcohol during pregnancy.

University of Iowa staff members who wish to begin or continue their undergraduate education can apply for funding support from the Robert F. Ray Staff Scholarship, offered through the Division of Continuing Education.

During the month of February, students from the College of Pharmacy are taking part in a national competition to help as many patients as possible. The Script Your Future Challenge pits colleges of pharmacy nationwide against each other with the goal of helping the general public learn about medication adherence.

The Carver College of Medicine Rural Iowa Scholars Program (CRISP) embeds rural elements in the medicine curriculum through mentorships, seminars, research, and field experiences in smaller communities. Program graduates are expected to practice in a rural Iowa community for at least five years after completing a qualifying residency.

The University of Iowa Art Faculty Biennial Exhibition runs Feb. 23 through May 5 at the Figge Art Museum, 225 West 2nd Street in Davenport, and kicks off this Sunday, Feb. 24, with an artists’ reception from 3-5 p.m.

The University of Iowa String Quartet Residency Program will present a free public performance by the Linden String Quartet at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 2, in Riverside Recital Hall on the UI campus. The concert is part of the Linden’s extended residency Feb. 26-March 6 at the UI School of Music.
