University of Iowa Information Technology Services is in the process of migrating student e-mail to Microsoft Office 365, providing students with larger mailboxes (25 GB vs. 1 GB today) and a full portfolio of communication and collaboration tools: (Excel, Power Point, Word, OneNote, instant messaging, video conferencing, and online meetings).

Stephen A. Wynn has made a $25 million gift commitment to the University of Iowa to support the UI’s Institute for Vision Research. In a new study, published online Aug. 8 in the journal Science, a University of Iowa team led by Kevin Campbell, Ph.D., has pinpointed not just one, but three proteins that are required for constructing a key, early section of a critical sugar chain. Mutations affecting any one of these three proteins can cause congenital muscular dystrophies in humans.
