Nearly 200 middle school students traveled to the UI campus to learn about the college experience and contribute to a book discussion. The event, in its eighth year, is organized by the UI College of Education's Diversity Committee and Belin-Blank Center as well as many other campus partners.

A new study led by the University of Iowa reports a drug may help lower a particular type of cholesterol. The researchers say the drug, evolocumab, boosts statins, which help lower cholesterol. Results appear in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
