University of Iowa President Bruce Harreld has appointed Sue Curry interim executive vice president and provost beginning April 1, 2017. She replaces P. Barry Butler, who was recently named president of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida.
UI team helps blind high schoolers build robot for competition

Professors and graduate students from the University of Iowa are working with students from the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School to build a robot. The IESBVI team, the Dark Side, is competing in the First Robotics Competition in Cedar Falls, which will take place March 23 through 25.

The French government has named Raymond Mentzer, the Daniel J. Krumm Family Chair in Reformation Studies at the University of Iowa, a knight in the Order of Academic Palms for his service and contributions to French education and culture. Mentzer will be decorated on June 12 in Paris.
UI Fulbright alumna leads push to help minority students apply for, receive fellowship
