Cleaning up after 70,000 fans is no easy task. Thankfully, there is a team ready to tackle the job after each home game at Kinnick Stadium, and these efforts help divert a substantial amount of waste from the landfill.

Michael Brownlee, ’01 PharmD, was the recipient of the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy’s Genesis Award. Brownlee is Associate Dean for Clinical Education and Clinical Associate Professor at the UI College of Pharmacy, as well as Associate Director and Chief Pharmacy Officer of University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

John Forbes, owner and operator of the Medicap Pharmacy in Urbandale, was presented with the UI College of Pharmacy’s Honorary Alumni Award. Forbes is a legislator in the Iowa House of Representatives where he serves on the Appropriations, Commerce, and Local Government committees, and Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee.

George Hiller, president and CEO of Hiller & Associates, a seven‐year‐old company that provides consulting on national beverage agreements and negotiations to the restaurant, hospitality, and convenience industries, was recently presented with the UI College of Pharmacy’s Honorary Alumni Award.

The Association for the Study of Higher Education announced its 2015 award winners, which include Michael B. Paulsen and George D. Kuh.

Miekeleen Hart, ’79 BSPh, founder and CEO of MDK Consulting LLC, which provides strategy development and implementation consulting services to health care companies considering or executing new commercial models, is a recent recipient of the UI College of Pharmacy’s Distinguished Alumni Award.
