UI finding in roundworms suggests research avenue for neurodegenerative diseases

University of Iowa researchers have found that certain roundworms can preemptively prepare a defense system that protects their cells from damage. The finding could lead to new treatments for neurodegenerative diseases in humans caused by damaged cells.
