The Iowa Board of Regents has named the 21 members of the University of Iowa Presidential Search and Screen Committee. The committee is charged with identifying candidates for board consideration, in conjunction with the search consultant, Parker Executive Search, to serve as the next president of the UI.

Scientists at the UI and the Iowa City VA Medical Center have developed a targeted approach that overrides muscles' intrinsic energy efficiency and allows muscle to burn more energy. The findings might provide a basis for new obesity treatments that help overcome the body's natural resistance to weight loss.
