University of Iowa conducting campus climate survey on sexual misconduct

The University of Iowa will conduct a campus climate survey to examine sexual misconduct occurring on campus, including sexual harassment, dating violence, stalking, and sexual violence. All degree-seeking undergraduate, graduate, and professional students will receive an email invitation to complete the Speak Out Iowa online survey on Monday, Oct. 26.

First-year seminars foster success

The University of Iowa first-year seminars, primarily taught by tenure-track faculty and senior administrators, are designed to connect faculty and students in order to build a foundation for academic success. They also improve retention rates, lessen students' feelings of anxiety, and sometimes point toward a career path not yet considered.
Each student received an envelope containing a $10 bill, and was encouraged to become "Phil For A Day" by donating the $10 to a UI program of their choice.
