UI-produced ‘Mural’ documentary wins Emmy

“Jackson Pollock’s ‘Mural’: The Story of a Modern Masterpiece,” a documentary produced by and created at the University of Iowa, has won an Emmy from the Mid-America Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

UI instrument aboard Voyager 1 spacecraft marks 40 years of discovery

For 40 years, an instrument designed and built at the University of Iowa has made discoveries in NASA’s historic Voyager 1 mission. Physics and astronomy professor Don Gurnett designed Voyager’s radio- and plasma-wave detector, which determined that the spacecraft became the first human-made object to leave the solar system.
