Hans Breder, artist, founder of UI’s Intermedia program, dies at 81

Professor emeritus Hans Breder passed away Sunday at age 81. Breder founded the internationally renowned and highly influential Intermedia program in the UI’s School of Art and Art History in 1968; Breder directed Intermedia from its establishment until his retirement in 2000 and remained a prolific artist throughout his life.

A study from the UI College of Public Health finds that chemicals used to manufacture plastic food and water containers in recent years do not cause obesity. The chemicals replaced another chemical that was found to cause a host of endocrine-health issues.
