Qian Xiao, assistant professor of health and human physiology, and postdoctoral researcher Dong Zhang worked with Iowa collaborators and others further afield to track cancer rates and mortality in various communities.

Two scientists from the University of Iowa have been named 2018 American Association for the Advancement of Science fellows. Ann Budd, in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, and Madeline Shea, in the Department of Biochemistry, will be honored at the February 2019 AAAS meeting in Washington, D.C.
